Talent Specialist - Commercial Construction
A highly regarded boutique recruitment firm is seeking an experienced Talent Specialist to support a Partner across senior-level roles within the commercial construction, property and major infrastructure sectors.
This is a delivery-focused position offering genuine autonomy. You’ll take ownership of candidate sourcing and market research for complex, front-end projects—working closely with a senior Partner on high-profile assignments linked to some of New Zealand’s largest programmes.
This is not a 360 role. No business development. Instead, you’ll be embedded in strategic searches, senior appointments and long-term client partnerships.
The Role
- You’ll play a critical role in delivering senior appointments at the planning and advisory stages of major projects, including roles across:
- Project Directors Health, Water & Infrastructure
- Programme & Major Project Directors
- Project Managers consulting / client-side
- Infrastructure Advisors
- Project Controls Leads
Day to day, you’ll be:
- Owning sourcing and research strategies across complex infrastructure and property markets
- Mapping talent across consultancy and client-side environments
- Proactively approaching and engaging senior-level candidates
- Reviewing long lists with the Partner
- Drafting and managing advertising campaigns
- Attending client briefings alongside the Partner
- Managing candidate processes end-to-end
- Coordinating and collating references and documentation
- Building deep talent pools for future programmes
- Acting as a trusted extension of the Partner and broader team
What We’re Looking For
- Agency recruitment experience in delivery, resourcing or consulting
- Proven headhunting and research capability
- Interest in infrastructure, construction or property markets
- Confident engaging senior stakeholders
- Highly organised and process-driven
- Comfortable operating autonomously
- Collaborative, boutique-minded approach
